Sworn Enemy - The Beginning Of The End: 01.07.2007 Live In Fulda

Hi Jamin, nice to meet you: First of all, let’s start with the gig this evening. What are your impressions? Are you satisfied with the response of the crowd?

Oh yes, it was an awesome show, we’ve never been better before, haha. The kids were going crazy, banging their heads all the time. It’ cool man, good reception from the audience. Most of the people have never seen us before, only four or five raised theit hands to this question.

You are on tour in Germany for some weeks. What is your comment about the german fans?

They love our music. People in general love music, but especially here in Germany the kids appreciate music a lot. We got no negative feedback, that’s for sure, haha. Yesterday we played at Full Force Festival. People as far as you can see, it’s amazing.

Just because you mentioned WFF: do you prefer playing big festivals or shows like this evening?

Of course everyone would like to play at WFF every day. I mean the small shows are more intimate, you know. You can meet the kids, talk with them or have some beers with them. Big festivals are better for the band I guess, because you have more exposure. But here I think, the kids appreciate hanging around and talking with us after the show.

How do you get along with WALLS OF JERICHO?

Well, I am from Detroit, Michigan. SWORN ENEMY is based in Queens. But I am from Detroit, I grew up with WALLS OF JERICHO, in the same clubs, at the same shows, you know. The guitar player from Walls Of Jericho recorded my first album.

Let’s talk about “The Beginning Of The End”. I like “Forgotten” and “Scared Of The Unknown”. What is your favourite track?

I would say probably “Save Your Breath”, just because as far as guitar playing goes. It’s a bit technical, but a very hard hitting song. It’s the first step in the new direction the band is going musically. The next album is recorded and should be come out in october. We changed the label in the USA from Abacus Records to Century Media, so I think it will come out in Germany two months later.

Do you have any special favourite album at the moment? Are you more into metal or hardcore stuff?

I like both, you know. Last night I listened to JERRY LEE LEWIS. I think every musician listens to a bunch of different kinds of music. My favourite cd at the moment…it’s hard to say…probably the new LAMB OF GOD record or the new SWORN ENEMY album, haha. We’ve been living and breathing it for a whole year, so I can’t wait playing the new material. For the future I would like to go on tour with MEGADETH , because I am a big fan of them. We did the reunion tour with ANTHRAX in the states and it was awesome. I also like rock’n’roll stuff like ALICE COOPER, I got a fucking great tattoo of him at the backside of my legs, haha. Generally we have the chance to go on tour with lots of different bands. It was quite fun at the WFF to see so many different bands, who are all friends of us.
