Cryptopsy - The Unspoken King

Hi Guys! First off all: How are you doing?
Doing good on tour right now so a little hectic.

At the moment you are on tour in europe. What were the first shows like and what are your expectations about the following ones?
Well I'm doing this interview a little late so at the moment we are in the US. The shows in europe were really good and the fans have been pleasantly surprised with the new singer Matt.

Please tell us something about the writing and recording of your new full-length-record “The Unspoken King”.
The recording was done with our guitar player Chris Donaldson at his studio, studio garage. We wanted to make sure that the sound for this album was top noche and had a good feeling about doing with Chris.
The writing was a team effort and the whole band had their say and input in this process.

The reviews for “The Unspoken King” are very different. Some reviewers praising this cd to the sky and some are damning you for recording such an record. What are your feelings about this?
Can't please them all! We love this record.

Please tell us something about the circumstances that Lord Worm left the band again and please introduce your new fronter Matt McGachy to our readers.
Worm left for reasons that he had as well as reasons that we had, it was a mutual decision and thas pretty much it. Matt Mcgachy is our new singer and he also plays in a band called 3 mile scream.

Who is your first songwriter. Who brings such genius ideas for songs? And were do you get your inspirations for these songs?
We all have a very equal part in the songwriting process so I guess one could say that its a team effort. Inspirations come from everything!

There are big variances in CRYPTOPSY’s sound. Some people call it “metalcore” but it is not. Why you changed your style like this and who got the idea for the clean vocals (which are very fucking good)?
Well we really didn't change styles, like you said we added clean vocals and therefore some more melodic parts. We have been wanting to incorporate a more varied vocal style in the music for a very long time.

When you look back what would you do in another way and what ould you do exactly the same way?
Wow thats a tricky question. Not sure cause that would make me think to much and my brain would blow up, lol. For this album we are content, and the next only the futur holds.

Where do you see CRYPTOPSY in the next ten years?
???????????
Was wohl soviel heißen soll, wie "Keine Ahnung"

Thank you for your time. The last words are yours!
Thank you, and thanks for your support.

Trotz der recht kurzen Antworten vielen Dank!
