Hey Guys! Congratulations! You`ve just released your debut album “One”. Please tell us something about the last few weeks before the release.
Mike Andersson: Thanks a lot :D. It was very exciting and also a bit nervous to see the reactions from metal fans and media. After all, we’re a debuting band even thou all of us have been in the industry for quite some time. I’m pleased that the reactions have turned out as amazing as they have....feels really great :).
If you listen to the songs of “One”, you can hear the influence of bands like Hammerfall or Stratovarius for example. How would you define your own trademarks?
CJ Grimmark: I would especially point out 2 things: the blend of the elements that make the FULLFORCE sound, and the fact that our sound tend to be a bit less "stiff" than many modern metal productions. There's a lot of spontaneous things going on in the tracks. That is pretty unusual today ;)
With the band`s name Fullforce people can expect classic power metal. What are your songs about?
Tommy Larsson: It´s about the everyday life that people can relate to...not much hocus pocus ;)
Mike, you also work with Cloudscape. Was there enough time to join a new band as the main singer?
Mike Andersson: Yes, absolutely. I love to compose music and sing and being on stage so, when we decided to start this band I couldn’t say no. But, nonetheless I have a full schedule now considering FULLFORCE is a genuine band which takes a lot of time...which of course is great and exciting :).
Please tell us about the developing process of your songs. Who`s got the ideas? Who`s composing the songs?
Stefan Elmgren: This album has been created in a very democratic way, almost everybody has been creative ´composing songs for this album. What we did was composing around 18 songs before we made a selection of 11 songs to be recorded for the album. We had a voting within the band and we came up with the songs that are now recorded. I think our combined styles of composing makes this album and Fullforce very special and a kind of a stand-out.
Three of you have been playing with Hammerfall. Do you stay in contact with the guys?
Anders Johansson: Yes, we all do. I personally still play with HammerFall and Stefan and Magnus (who now left Fullforce) also have contact with them. I try to arrange Hammerfalls schedule, as much as possible, so Fullforce can go on tour and play festivals. I think outside and with the business and music they have lot of memories and a long history together. When Fullforce had our release party A couple of guys from Hammerfall came by. They liked the music and thought we sounded great...maybe too great even :-)
It seems to me, that Fullforce is much more than just another Metal Project – you present yourself as a real band. Is there a chance to see you on tour?
Tommy Larsson: Yes we are a real band and a unity, were just about to go on a mini tour supporting Edguy here in Sweden and Deutschland. We love to play live and were looking forward to see ya all banging your head to our music.
What is your opinion of the general situation in today's Heavy Metal?
CJ Grimmark: Honestly I feel pretty happy to have lived during the 00's. I think there has been SO much more good music put out than in, for example, 90's that almost bored me to death except for some great exceptions.
Thank You and best wishes to you all! Any finishing words?
Anders Johansson: Thanks for having us and taking your time reading our thoughts!
