Hello and greetings to France! Some days ago your debut album „Mysticeti Victoria“ was released. Please tell us some reactions that you have heard until now.
Hello, well, the most important reaction is: What a difference between your first EP and this album!! Fans and friends have waiting for a long time and it's a fantastic moment to share Mysticeti Victoria with them.
Reactions are great, many compliments from people who've heard “Taiji” or “Life, Love & Death” and, it's the same feeling on stage, a very cool debut.
Actually we are reading the press critics and we can say that we take good reactions.
How did the production process take place? Which emotions did you have while recording in the Finnvox studios, where such well-known bands like Amorphis had worked on their albums?
The process has begun on November 2010 with the drum parts. From February to May 2011 we have recorded basses, guitars, orchestrations and vocals parts.
We've brought all recording sessions to the Finnvox Studios and looked forward their answer. Mikko Karmila said yes (awesome moment...) for the big work of mixing.
After his incredible job, we chose Mika Jussila for the mastering touch.
We knew that these guys are uncontested in their works and we took the right decision, we have a pure heavier sound. It was a very exciting experience.
How would you describe the sound of Darktribe to others?
Darktribe is an intensive travel, from tragedy of human life to wildlife recognition.
The sound is heavier, invasive and forceful, like our lifes.
Does it fit with your personal musical preferences? What are important influences on “Mysticeti Victoria”?
For sure, music rythms our days and influences of our compositions are taken from our personal music story. Heavy, Symphonic, Death or Thrash Metal are presented in Mysticeti Victoria. Nothing is too strong to explain what you feel when you're hearing a powerful music.
Will the new material be presented live also outside of your home country?
We are preparing an important European Tour in 2013. France is a little country for metal musicians, it's an obligation to take the road and we want to share music with a maximum of person.
The album deals with the topic of systematic destruction of the earth, caused by mankind. What can the single person do to break through this murderous cycle?
I don't know, maybe take care to the word respect. The main idea of our album is not to take a position, just to explain how the wildlife is important for human condition.
It's very easy to live your life with the nature's understanding...but...
Wars, exploitation, famines: The list of grievances in the world would be very long. Where do you see mankind in, let us say, 100 years?
We are very concerned by all these sad conditions but it's not our role to do something. Power and finance are holding by politicians, they can change the world in one second.
So, we will continue to ride and sing our planet to show at these guys how human has the possibility to create a better world.
The album cover shows sunken ancient ruins. How can we interpret the picture?
Julien (Drums – Anm. d. Red.) found the theme of a huge ocean's wave which overwhelms everything, but not only cities or civilizations, destroying all dreams and hopes.
It's the main idea of Mysticeti Victoria, the wildlife victory against human condition.
Okay, thank you very much! Is there anything you would like to add, some last words to the Metalglory readers?
Yes, thank you too and thank you for your job. Be sure that we will continue to share music with metal fans and bring us the best of Darktribe.
